Back up and export your data
Open the "Your data" screen in the app.
- Back up: creates one file with every record and photo. Protect it with a passphrase. If you forget the passphrase, nobody can recover it, including us. Keep the file somewhere safe, for example in Files or iCloud Drive.
- Restore from backup: replaces what is on the phone with the backup file.
- Export as CSV: every record and agenda item, for a spreadsheet or your doctor.
Delete your data
- On your phone: "Delete all my data" in the "Your data" screen removes the records, photos, reminders and the encryption key. It cannot be undone, so make a backup first if you may need it.
- On the server (only if you used Family Sync): in the Family Sync screen, a member taps "Leave family"; the owner taps "Delete family on the server" to remove all synced data for everyone. Erasing the phone data or deleting the app does not do this by itself, so delete or leave the family first.
- E-mail: if you cannot use the app, write to us. Because our server holds no names, we may need information that lets us find your family. See the Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions and refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple. Manage or cancel under Settings, your name, Subscriptions on your iPhone. For refunds go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Use "Restore purchases" in the app on a new phone.
Moving to a new phone
The encryption key of your records stays in the Keychain of the phone and does not move with a normal phone-to-phone transfer. On the old phone create a backup (with a passphrase) and restore it on the new phone. If you use Family Sync, you can also rejoin through an invitation from the owner and the records come back from your family.
Known limits
- Photos and voice-note files are not part of Family Sync. They stay on the phone that took them and in your backups.
- Photos are protected by iOS Data Protection; the app does not encrypt them separately. A backup without a passphrase contains photos unencrypted.
- A member removed from a family keeps what was already downloaded to their phone.
- Reminders are local notifications. If notifications are off or the phone is switched off they will not show. Do not rely on them alone for medicines.
- Family Sync is best effort. We cannot read or recover your records, so keep backups.
- If you restore a backup, it replaces the current data on that phone.
- The app is a record-keeping tool. It gives no medical advice and does not replace a doctor. In an emergency call your local emergency number.
